Look at any modern metropolis and you will discover a gang of cranes erecting skyscrapers, in amongst the skyscraper jungle already established. The key constituent in the construction of such edifices is steel. Steel constructions are the backbone of every city.

Beore the cranes can do their bit, the building must be designed. This is where steel structure detailing comes into play. Structural detailing design is primary to the safety of those who inhabit the building, and also the safety of the people actually putting up the building. A huge amount of preparation is required in order to fulfill safety ordinances while meeting all the specifications the architect and client have ordered.

A steel structure designer must know about force and pressure - when to get the building to yield to external forces, and when to withstand such pressures, to maximise the integrity of the construction. A structure also has to withstand great weights, so this is another matter the detailer must deal with. From the weight of snow to wind speed, a steel drafter has to design for all kinds of outside forces.

These days, there’s a greater requirement for creative design, meaning the detailer can often find himself working on difficult designs and try to transform them into a secure working space for hundreds of people.

Even So, it’s not all bad for the detailer - software packages like Asteel, AutoCad, and Tekla Steel have helped speed up the process of drafting and detailing large buildings.

Atlantic Square will replace the original ten year plan for the IFSD and it’s believed the proposed centre will create another 2500 jobs. Developers, the Capella Group, plan to keep the original 19th century faade of warehouses on James Watt St, where twenty two workers died in a tragic fire thirty years ago. The square’s central focus point will be an impressive courtyard, which will provide a sheltered area for visitors and workers to relax. Plus, improved pedestrian access has been accounted for.

Jim Fitzsimons is chief executive for the Capella Group, and believes the new centre will be a success, despite the current economic crisis. The IFSD has already proven to be a success, and the new centre, already nicknamed the “Wall Street on The Clyde”, will provide a generous amount of office space for companies. Fitzsimons is optimistic that Atlantic Square will provide a big push for Glasgow and will accommodate further commercial expansion in the area.

Certificate programs, associate degree, bachelor’s degree, and graduate programs are the multiple types of graphic design programs available. These various training options have their good and bad points. The perfect program of study for you is the one that will allow you to achieve your career goals, as well as enable you to fulfill your lifelong dreams, hopes, and desires. This composition will analyze many different aspects of associate degree and bachelor’s degree studies in Graphic design to assist you in determining the most advantageous course of study for your goals in life.
Professional status: It is a sad and unfair fact that an associate degree is looked down upon. There are those executives that wrongly believe that only the “cream of the crop” attend four year educational programs and the students from other programs of study are not worth the time it takes to look over their application. While it may not be an accurate, or fair, evaluation of one’s skill level, it is the reality of the situation. When there are two equally qualified candidates vying for the same project, the project will usually be awarded to the individual with the bachelor’s degree instead of the individual with the associate degree. Education always wins when you consider all other things as equal.
Career Path: You will spend less time in school and more time making money if you get an associate degree, and you will most likely be able to get the same job you would with a bachelor’s degree.
Expense: It is far less expensive to obtain an associate degree versus a bachelor’s degree. This is due to the fact that you are paying for fewer years of schooling.
Either a bachelor’s or an associate degree will allow you to pursue a stimulating career and keep up with key technological developments in the graphic design field.
